TACTICAL RIFLE STANCE (RESIDENTIAL & URBAN USE) Matt Canovi
Wyatt Earp is supposed to have said, “In a gunfight, you have to take your time fast.” This means you must aim, but you have to aim fast in order to survive. So, it is vitally important, we utilize a shooting stance that enhances our ability to get accurate, fast hits. This can be done, when we maximize speed by minimizing movement. Furthermore, research also proves that in a gunfight, you must utilize simple techniques, so they can be accomplished under the stress of a real world life threatening attack.
Once again we can use research to develop a simple stance technique which maximizes speed by minimizing movement. Research from the FBI, “Law Enforcement Officers Feloniously Killed in the Line of Duty with Firearms”, over the last twenty years clearly documents:
• Over 80% of police shootings occur under twenty feet • Over 50% of police shootings occur during dark time hours or under low light conditions
Additional independent FBI research documents:
• The vast majority of these shooting occurred under the physiological stress response known as “Tunnel Vision”
Research from “Police Marksman Magazine’s”, “Stopping Power Survey”, 1985 – 1990 documented:
• It takes multiple shots (an average of 3.5) in the torso to stop an attacker • 100% of the time a single head shot stopped the attacker
Police vehicle dash board video as well as practical firearms training logic indicate:
• The average police shooting occurs between 2.5 and 3.5 seconds
Using this research, the goal of our tactical rifle stance is to provide a simple, stable platform from which the shooter can deliver fast, accurate multiple hits to the torso of an attacker, at close distances, during low light conditions or dark time hours and under the real world stress of a life threatening attack.
Body square to front/target
When your body is squarely facing an attacker, and your rifle is pointed away from your body at a 90% angle, the front of your body and the front of the rifle are pointing directly at the attacker. (Photo A) This gives the shooter “Body Alignment” on the target, so they can quickly and accurately aim the rifle, at close distances, and under stress without using the rifle sights, because in a life threatening armed encounter, shots that miss do nothing to stop the attack, and they waste what little time you have, so you must aim the firearm to get accurate hits.

FEAR NOT THE BULLPUP – MSAR REVIEW
Stoney McCleery
Recently I was given the opportunity to get my hands on a MSAR E-4 bullpup rifle in .223/5.56. These rifles are the US copy of the Steyr Aug, famed to be the Cadillac of battle rifles. MSAR stands for Microtech Small Arms Research. Microtech has since lost the MSAR and to my knowledge Ratworx USA is or has been attempting to get things in order hopefully to get them into production again.
There are several editions of the MSAR, some of the early editions had issues; early editions went by STG-556 and did not have the E-4 designator. The E-4 was the latest edition meeting the requests and complaints of customers. Previous editions only accepted the MSAR magazines, the E-4 will accept AR-15 magazines and the updated MSAR E-4 magazine. To my knowledge the E-4 will not accept the older MSAR mags. A quality problem with the bolt was corrected, and some special edition packages were put together that included a limited edition Microtech knife, a Storm hard case, and the E-4 rifle in OD green, desert tan, or black finishes.
Base price for the MSAR E-4: $1000-$1500, Special Edition: $1900+ These can be found easily on http://www.gunbroker.com So clearly it’s not the price range of the base-model AR, but then again it’s clearly not an AR now is it.
The specific design of the MSAR gives it a unique profile, so much so that it is considerably shorter in overall length than the typical AR-15, even the M4 configurations. Due to the profile of the MSAR recoil is conosiderably managed and controlled to the point that the shooter will notice a big difference shooting the MSAR side by side with an AR-15 when it comes to recoil management. So let’s dive into this thing starting from the rear of the rifle.
The magazine release is one of the items that will put many people off a bit. It is a bit cumbersome to operate until you get used to it, but it is designed that way to prevent an accidental mag-drop given the relative placement of the hand on the pistol grip as well as the equipment that might be mounted to a vest or carrier in that immediate viscinity.
I have yet to actually find a comfortable way of cheating to speed up reloads, including the use of a magazine coupler, to no avail…it just takes training. That said, if the situation allows you to be a wise combat shooter then you’ll likely be aware of being low on ammo in the mag and conduct a mag change while a round is still chambered. To give some insight on the mag change with a coupler: If the secondary magazine is to the left, right one loaded in the rifle, the magazine release button can be difficult to get to and depress fully because your hand has to get around the spare mag.
If the secondary magazine is to the right, left one loaded in the firearm, it is extremely simple to get to the magazine release button and depress it but, the magazine to the right of the firearm will be pressed upon your right arm trying to reach the pistol grip. It’s tolerable but it is noticeable.

HOW GOVERNMENT WORKS
Mike Moon

Once upon a time the government had a vast scrap yard in the middle of the desert…
Congress said, “Someone may steal from it at night.” So they created a night watchman position and hired a person for the job.
Then Congress said, “How does the watchman do his job without instruction?” So they created a planning department and hired two people, one person to write the instructions and one person to do time studies.
Then Congress said, “How will we know the night watchman is doing the tasks correctly?” So they created a Quality Control department and hired two people, one to do the studies and one to write the reports.
Then Congress said, “How are these people going to get paid?” So they created two positions, a time keeper and a payroll officer and then hired two people to do the jobs.
Then Congress said, “Who will be accountable for all of these people?”
So they created an administrative section and hired three people, an Administrative Officer, an Assistant Administrative Officer, and a Legal Secretary.
Then Congress said, “We have had this command in operation for one year, and we are $168,000 over budget. We must cut back,” so they laid off the night watchman.
Now think about that for a moment. Is our government, in reality, operating any differently?
Does anybody remember the reason given for the establishment of the Department of Energy during the Carter Administration? It’s been so long ago, it’s doubtful that many know the true reason. Here’s the bottom line: We’ve spent several hundred billion dollars in support of an agency for which hardly anyone can remember the purpose. The Department of Energy was instituted on 8/04/1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil.
Most would agree that was a good reason for creating the DOE (Department of Energy). Let’s take a brief look at what has happened since it’s inception.
Thirty-four (34) and one-half years later, we have a department with a budget of over $24 billion. With over 16, 000 federal employees and about 100,000 contract employees the United States has gone from a 30% dependency on foreign oil to over 60% dependency in 2012. That’s a prime example of Federal bureaucracy!
Now, we have turned over the banking system (Federal Reserve – with no Congressional oversight), the auto industry, and healthcare to the same government! Our government say’s it believes that “you cannot borrow your way out of debt… and spend into prosperity,” but continues to do what it says cannot be done!
Remember the saying, “If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got”? Will we ever learn? Will we continue to allow our government to continue doing what they’ve always done only to forget on election day?
Don’t be fooled into thinking that the same individuals who have allowed this mis-management to continue will act differently. Let’s band together to demand change by electing individuals who will work to stop our governments misuse of our money and resources.
I invite you to consider Mike Moon to represent you in the MO 7th Congressional district. Take a look at my stance on the issues at www.MikeMoonforCongress.com and contact me if you have questions.

NFA GUN TRUSTS
The Law Office of Doug Fredrick, LLC
On August 28, 2011, Missouri citizens received a breath of fresh air regarding their second amendment rights. On that date, HB 294 became effective law. Normally, a legislative body passes laws that impose more rules, regulations, and restrictions on its citizens, but Missouri’s legislature did something extremely rare in this case. Instead of sticking its nose further into the business of Missouri citizens, it completely stepped out of the way.
Among HB 294’s more noteworthy components are: 1) A prohibition on taxing firearms or ammunition at a higher rate than for any other sporting goods, 2) Lowering the age at which a person can obtain a concealed carry endorsement from 23 to 21 years of age, and 3) Allowing a person to possess, manufacture, transport, repair, or sell certain weapons and devices regulated under the National Firearms Act (NFA), codified at 26 U.S.C. 53, as long as all federal laws are fully complied with.
HB 294 made the purchase of items regulated by the NFA quicker, easier, and much more accessible to the average citizen. NFA regulated items are commonly referred to as Title II or Class III weapons and devices, which include fully automatic weapons, short-barreled weapons, and suppressors. The new law also enabled citizens to utilize a special type of trust tailored specifically for Title II items. If you purchase a Title II weapon or device in the name of an NFA Gun Trust, you no longer have to follow these former state requirements:
- Submit fingerprints or photographs (which can be returned as inadequate and thus delay the process for weeks or months), and
- You do not have to obtain the signature of the county sheriff (which you were not likely to get anyway).
You will still need to follow these federal requirements:
- Complete all federal forms,
- Pass a full background check, and
- Pay the $200.00 tax for each NFA item purchased
An NFA Gun Trust also sets up a protective structure so that if you die, the trust will continue to own the Title II item(s) until the beneficiary of the trust can legally take ownership of them. This prevents the government from confiscating the Title II items and possibly charging an innocent wife or child of the decedent with federal criminal charges if they are not legally entitled to handle the Title II items.
The person who sets up the trust can appoint co-trustees who can legally handle, operate, and transport the Title II item(s). All trustees of an NFA Gun Trust must never have been convicted of a felony or domestic violence charge and cannot be a minor. Further, the trustees must be mature and responsible enough to handle Title II weapons and devices in a trustworthy manner.

OPEN CARRY IN MISSOURI?
Mark West
Open Carry in Mo? Is it legal? Yes, Missouri is an open carry state where you have the right to open carry your firearm in public in most places without the need for a CCW permit. The state of Mo has no laws regulating the open carry of firearms; however you do need to check your local laws in your city or county before doing so they may have laws that regulate it.
Here in Greene County/Springfield Mo it is legal to open carry without a CCW permit. I would suggest for anyone wishing to use this right to carry a firearm openly that they get some form of basic firearm training on how to use the firearm, how to load and unload and store the firearm in the home. Also the training would cover the legal aspects of carrying the firearm, when you can and when you cannot use deadly force, and the state laws on the use of deadly force.

THE FREE MARKET IS DEAD. LONG LIVE THE FREE MARKET!
Doug Tjaden
Today, the average American is finding boundaries placed around them that previously did not exist. Citizens who have lived peaceably and honorably in this nation for decades are required to submit to a strip search or “enhanced pat down” if flying, or now – stopped at highway checkpoints where random vehicle searches are conducted.
The obliteration of the 4th and 5th amendments is now “required for the safety of all.” Sadly the vast majority simply fall in lockstep, buying the lie that it is necessary in an ever more dangerous and complex world.
What does this have to do with economics? Everything. The loss of freedom in this nation began well before 911, the Patriot Act and the TSA. Nearly one hundred years ago, the foundation was laid on which all of our freedoms would be threatened.
When the Federal Reserve was created in 1913, their self-imposed “mandate” was to minimize inflation and maximize employment. Notice that their mandate does not include maximizing economic freedom. Freedom of trade, thought, creativity, productivity, etc. are nowhere to be found.
Thus, over the next one hundred years, the Fed was given license to create a fiat monetary empire which has led to today’s environment of crony capitalism. Markets are no longer free, and winners and losers are chosen based on their ties to Washington D.C. Furthermore, this fiat empire provides “deficit financing” for the very agencies that rob us of our freedom. The TSA, NSA, EPA, FDA, NEA, et. al. receive 43% of their funding, on average, because of the Federal Reserve’s fiat money gifts to Washington.
Now, the fiat empire has reached a point of terminal instability. Recognizing this, the 1% (Goldman Sacs, et. al.) has thrown all pretense of the rule of law out the window. They use their “mandate” to manipulate the economy and coerce markets to behave according to their dictates, all the while pillaging the property and savings of the middle class. Meanwhile the 1% continues to prosper with inside information (Congress) and protection from prosecution (MF Global).
The 1% now creates rules and regulations like they do their money – by fiat. This fittingly demonstrates their lust to create and control everything around them. Main street has responded accordingly. Not being a member of the club, they have no idea what the playing field will look like next month, let alone within the window of a typical three to five year business plan. Thus, they hold onto any capital they have managed to preserve from the claws of the 1%.
The 99% (not the deceived Occupy crowd) is catching on. As they seek to preserve their provision through traditional safe haven assets such as precious metals, farm land (not residential real estate), and commodities, the 1% does their best to keep them corralled into their paper games until the dollar is printed into the history books. It is their attempt to shackle to the bulkhead as the ship goes down. However, please understand this. The market is larger and more powerful than any person or group of people. It always gets it way. It will break the shackles of control and the reset button will be pushed. It will seek a new currency and a new way of doing business. History shows that sometimes it happens only after a period of volatility and violence that spills into the culture. But it will happen. The question is, who will control the system after the button is pushed? That answer will be determined by how much you and I value our freedom.

WHAT IS RECLAIMING MISSOURI FOR CHRIST?
Reclaiming Missouri for Christ is not a club to join. There is no membership list and there are no due paying members. We simply want to help pastors and Christians in general, work together in Reclaiming Missouri and reestablishing the Biblical principles and the Biblical morality that America was founded on. We hope to:
1. Be a source of information to pastors and Christians who wish to reclaim their state and city for Jesus Christ. 2. Be able to assist pastors and Christians with suggestions of what has and hasn’t worked in various states around the nation. 3. Be a source of communication between pastors around the state. We hope that our web site can help to serve as a link between pastors in different cities to become aware of, communicate with and encourage one another.
God has called us to be Watchmen of the Wall. We are to encourage and comfort when all is well and to cry out when danger approaches. We are to evangelize the lost with the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ and to stand against the spread of wickedness in our culture. We are to be Salt and Light.
We have confused the terms “serving the Lord” with “going to church.” The typical Christian attends Sunday service and says, “There, I’ve served the Lord.” Not so!! Church is for the Body of Christ. We attend church for fellowship, encouragement, accountability, and Bible preaching and teaching. We are to be “fully equipped” at church in order to GO OUT and serve the Lord.
From Enoch to Noah; Moses to Samuel; Elijah to Nathan; Isaiah to Daniel; John the Baptist to Paul; from Jonathon Edwards to George Whitefield; John Peter Gabriel Muhlenberg to John Witherspoon; from Charles Finney to Dwight Moody to Billy Sunday – prophets and preachers of God have preached faithfully the Gospel of Jesus Christ and stood firmly for righteousness on this earth, to the common man and also the king.
Reclaiming Missouri for Christ meets the last Saturday of each month at Panera Bread 2924 E. Sunshine Springfield, Mo. Call 417-773-4840 for more information.
Pastors and Christians, we must all stand our watches in our own neighborhoods, communities, cities to Reclaim Missouri for Christ.
“When the righteous are in authority the people rejoice.” Proverbs 29:2
